Title: Construction Manager
Job Description:
This position is responsible for supporting and managing Skyline Solar’s customer projects. In this position you will oversee the construction support of all partner field installations. You will maintain relationships with prime client contacts, and drive construction and customer service activities. You may also manage external sub-contractors and work closely with internal design, administration, finance, and supply chain groups to insure that projects are completed with high customer satisfaction and meet all schedule and financial objectives.
Responsibilities to include:
- Responsible for customer and partner satisfaction from project conception through project commissioning and monitoring.
- Program manage the system design and construction process support for key partners.
- Perform risk-analyses/forecasting for all projects to anticipate problems and avoid any negative impact on the Company.
- Ultimately responsible for compliance, safety, and performance on all projects.
- Responsible for effective oversight of multiple subcontractors and project partners.
- Negotiate and manage sub-contracts and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills:
- A Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural or equivalent experience in the energy engineering area.
- 5+ years of commercial construction or commercial electrical contracting in the energy field; experience with photovoltaic products, energy technologies, power control or related field, working directly with an installation network is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical design, materials and methods of installation, especially in solar power generation, is preferred.
Non- Technical Skills:
- Project management skills based on construction industry experience.
- Strong familiarity with construction and electrical codes.
- Strong analytical skills with good business acumen.
- Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization, as well as outside customers and vendors.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
- Organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be computer-savvy - strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and MS Project is required.
Fluency in English and fluency in other European languages is desired but not required (most applicable being Spanish or Italian).
